Over the past few weeks, we have gotten several questions asking why we went with the subscription service method.
Instead of sending dozens upon dozens of emails, we thought it would be fun to share our story here on the blog.
So, if you are brand new here or happen to stumble across this article by accident – allow us to give you a little backstory.
Here at Savvy Kids, we have 3 different subscription options to choose from: our 3-month plan, our 6-month plan and our 12-month plan.
All kits also come with free shipping!
Because let’s be honest. Who doesn’t love free shipping?
Every month our kits include a storybook, an activity booklet, conversation cards, a collectible coin and a resource toy.
What can we say…
We put the FUN in finance.
Alright. We got a little sidetracked. Let’s get back into the story. So, we are all about investing in educational one-time use products.
In fact, there are plenty of them already out there on the market.
The only thing is, once you’ve completed a one-time use activity or finish a great book, it can be hard to know what to do next.
Do you read the book again? Do you put the book away and call it a day? The answer isn’t always so easy.
We’re all human. Things slip our minds. Books get lost. Goals get put on hold. It happens.
Exactly why we decided to go with the subscription box method.
Why Subscription Boxes?
Our subscription boxes arrive every month, which in turn will help your child stay consistent and on track.
They Help Measure Progress:
Receiving monthly boxes will make it much easier for your child to measure their progress and take the fun road towards financial freedom.
When you do something once or twice, you don’t have any data or information to compare it to, which makes it hard to see if you’re actually getting better.
At the end of every month, you and your child can have a chat about their progress and goals for the next month.
Consistency:
Here’s a question for you. Would you rather do 140 pushups a week or 20 pushups a day?
Unless you are the ultimate pushup campion, we will assume you went with the 20 pushups a day option. Hey – so did we.
Setting large goals can be very overwhelming.
When something takes more than 1 hour to complete, it’s generally a good idea to break it up into smaller steps. We’re big fans of the sticky note method for that reason.
At the end of the day, you should definitely do what works best for you.
Doing just a few pushups every day (whether they are bad or good) is far better than burning yourself out or not even trying.
When a task takes less than 10 minutes to complete, it’s much easier to start it – even when you’re not really in the mood.
At some point, the 20 pushups will become too easy. When you cross that bridge you can slowly increase that number.
The more you do something, the easier it comes.
Did you like that little pushup story? Well, you’re in luck. That same strategy can help your child achieve whatever they set their mind to.
It can help them stay on top of homework, general self-improvement, and last but certainly not least, their Savvy Kids Kits.
Discipline:
Forming any new habit can be tough, especially when we’re working towards something outside our comfort zone.
No matter what you want to achieve in life, you’re going to have to put the work in and stay disciplined. It may take your child some time to reach their goals. But if they work hard enough and stay consistent, they will get there.
Final Thoughts:
No matter what subscription option you opt for, we are confident that both you and your child will love Savvy Kids.
It’s always a lot of fun having something to look forward to! We have said this pun before, but we will say it again. We put the FUN in finance.
